A 75-minute shared session in a licensed machiai-chaya (geisha banquet house) in Asakusa. At each session, three registered Asakusa geisha appear: two tachikata (dancers) and one jikata (musician for live shamisen and song). Watch classical dance, hear live shamisen, take part in traditional ozashiki (geisha banquet-room) games, and capture the evening on camera or video — live streaming is not permitted.

What should I wear?
Smart casual is fine. No kimono or formal wear is required. The session takes place on tatami, so we ask that you remove your shoes at the entrance — comfortable, easy-to-remove footwear is a small kindness.
Can I attend alone?
Yes. The Tea House session is a shared-seating format, and many guests come on their own. You will sit alongside other guests in the same tatami room and share the programme together.
Is English available?
Yes. Game rules, the order of the programme, and short cultural explanations are given in English throughout the session. The performance itself — dance and shamisen — is in its original Japanese form.
Can I take photos?
Yes — photos and videos by guests are welcome throughout the session. The only thing we ask is that live streaming is not permitted, to protect the privacy of the geisha and other guests in the room.
How is this different from the private ozashiki plans?
The Tea House session is a 75-minute shared-seating format with a fixed programme — three geisha, live shamisen, classical dance, ozashiki games, matcha and sweets. Private Ozashiki plans are reserved entirely for your party in your own tatami room, with longer time, a kaiseki meal, and a flexible programme shaped by your conversation with the geisha. For guests visiting Asakusa Miyakodori for the first time, the okami recommends a private evening if your schedule allows.
